PEN PAL PROGRAM

The Heart 2 Heart Pen Pal Program connects children with chronic conditions to other kids who truly understand their experiences — all through a safe, online platform.

Kids can share stories, encouragement, and support through messages and virtual activities, helping them build friendships and feel less alone. At the same time, parents can also choose to connect with other parents to have their own secure online space to connect, share advice, and learn from each other.

Both platforms are carefully monitored by adults to keep everyone safe and supported. Our goal is to make sure no child ever feels alone — every message is a reminder that someone cares and understands.

HOW TO SIGN UP

  1. Complete the Online Application: Parents fill out the form with information about their child.

  2. Create Accounts: Once approved, parents receive access to the parent platform, and children get access to their own separate, kid-friendly platform.

  3. Start Connecting: Kids can message and participate in activities with their matched pen pals, while parents can join discussions and the main support group.
